The Pear cut diamond shape — also known as the teardrop or pendeloque cut — is unlike any other diamond shape. It features a modified brilliant cut and blends the Marquise and Oval cuts with one rounded end and a point on the other. Its signature silhouette is instantly recognised, much beloved, and undeniably romantic.

Oval Rose cuts offer a uniquely warm appearance unlike any of the modern diamond cuts. Rose cut features a flat bottom with a dome-shaped crown reaching an apex formed by 3 facets or more. Rose cuts are named as such because they resemble the shape of a rose bud. The rose pattern on these diamond shapes can vary in complexity; simple Rose cuts can have as few as three facets, while others may have as many as 24.

Bursting with brilliance and fire, an Oval cut diamond shape is exquisite and unique. The Oval is considered a “fancy” shape; the elongated design makes it appear larger than other shapes of the same carat weight. The slender body of the oval diamond creates a beautiful, elongated look. It often makes the hand and fingers appear slimmer. The diamond shape has no sharp corners, so it’s less prone to chipping — one of the many reasons that make the Oval one of VRAI’s most popular diamond shapes.

The Octavia has a distinct cut-cornered square shape. It is one of the most brilliantly cut square diamond shapes available. With the unrivaled radiance of a Round Brilliant and an octagonal silhouette, this shape presents a one-of-a-kind brilliance. High crowns and optimal angles allow maximized brilliance and fire in all directions, while large facets create unique scintillation, setting the Octavia apart from all other shapes.

This graceful, elongated diamond shape is known for its curved sides, pointed ends, and sense of whimsy. Because of its shape, a Marquise cut diamond shape will look larger face-up than a Round Brilliant cut of the same carat weight. A Marquise cut boasts 56 facets in a longer, slender navette form.

An exclusive in-house cut, the Lucky cut is a variant of the Long Octagon cut. It has slightly  truncated corners and its particularity is in its faceting; the classic Octagon cut features step cut facets while the Lucky highlights classic brilliant-cut facets for distinctive scintillation.

The step-cut Long Hexagon diamond shape has a facet structure that resembles that of an Emerald or Asscher cut shape. This cutting style features wider, open facets that create an optical illusion known as the “hall of mirrors” effect, in which the flashes of light draw your eye into the center of the stone. Its name of course comes from its distinct geometric form, featured here in an elongated form.

Symmetrical and rhombus-like, Kite diamond shapes are a savvy combination of step-cut and brilliant-cut facets.  Because of its step-cut qualities, the Kite cut has a unique and somewhat subdued brilliance, but still shimmers like stars across the night sky.

The step-cut Hexagon diamond shape has a facet structure that resembles that of an Emerald or Asscher cut shape. An exclusive in-house cut, Fusion cut is born from innovation  and creative inspiration. Its elongated design is similar to the Oval cut diamond shape but with mixed faceting similar to both an Oval and Emerald cut. This blended faceting gives the Fusion a distinctive and unique look as well as extraordinary brilliance.

Called a “Cushion” for its pillow-like appearance, this soft square shape features rounded corners and a brilliant cut in an elongated form. Large facets highlight clarity, disguise inclusions and maximize radiance. Although they are not as brilliant as Round cut diamond shapes, they have a greater fire, meaning they will display more bright colors from within the gem when viewed at different angles. Cushion cuts are considered modern versions of the Old Mine Cut, the most popular round diamond cut through the early 1900s, giving them a vintage-inspired look. The Elongate Cushion is a modern take on this classic cut.

An exclusive in-house cut, the Cushion Princess cut is the result of the creativity and craftsmanship from the hands of a master cutter. It is a mixture of the classic Cushion cut shape with the particularity of a Princess-cut-inspired chevron pattern on the underside. For those who are looking for a unique diamond shape, this cut is the perfect fit.

The traditional Emerald cut diamond shape has an elongated, rectangular shape,with step-cut facets that are polished straight and linear in parallel lines. This modified Emerald has the same shape but polished with brilliant cut facets to add dispersion and fire instead of the classic white sparkle.

The Asscher cut diamond shape is an octagonal diamond with a square shape and layered facets. The Asscher cut features a deep pavilion and high crown—offering brilliance and its signature geometric appeal. VRAI’s Asscher cut has 65 facets. The arrangement of these facets, however, gives its uniquely vintage-inspired appearance and a “hall of mirrors” effect.

Undeniably romantic and symbolic of your love, Heart cuts are cut and polished for maximum brilliance. With 57 brilliant facets and a distinctive shape, the Heart is as scintillating as it is spectacular. And although this particular diamond shape has existed since the 16th century, it continues to gain popularity today when featured in modern-yet-timeless styles.

The Felix cut is similar to an Emerald cut, but with different facets. As opposed to step-cut facets, the Felix features triangular-shaped facets only  for maximum brilliance and scintillation. With 35 facets total, the Felix is an older cut that is highly sought-after today.

A Trillion cut, also referred to as a Trilliant cut,  is cut into a triangular shape. A typical Trillion cut will have three sides of equal length and a flat table at its surface. A thoroughly modern diamond shape, today’s Trillion cut is at once soft and sharp.

Shield cut diamond shapes have a somewhat triangular shape with the top side bowed and the two other sides composed of two bowed edges. The overall shape resembles shields used by warriors throughout history. Because of their unique shape, Shield cuts are often used for dangle earrings and pendants, but are beginning to appear in a larger variety of diamond jewelry.

Round Rose cut diamond shapes offer a uniquely warm appearance unlike any of the modern diamond cuts. A true classic and the perfect balance of proportion and symmetry, this rounded shape has sparkling facets that maximize brilliance and fire. The Round Brilliant is a timeless cut that stands the test of time and is the most popular of all diamond shapes. Because of this, it is also often considered one of the most expensive or valuable diamond shapes. The Round Brilliant’s poetic curves come full circle to signify eternal love in many an engagement ring setting.

The Regulus cut is an exclusive in-house cut similar to the Round, but cut with more facets. Top facets called crown is similar to a Round Brilliant but the pavilion has been modified with extra facets on halves but also close to the culet, thus creating a distinctive light reflection.

The Rand cut has the outline of the Emerald cut diamond shape but shows more brilliance. This cut is a modern diamond shape. It is similar to the Radiant cut but with a smaller table and pavilion that is polished in a similar fashion as that of a Round Brilliant cut diamond shape.

The Radiant cut diamond shape lives up to its name — it is impressively radiant and brilliant. Henry Grossbard designed the Radiant cut in 1977 in pursuit of combining the finest elements of the Round Brilliant cut and the Emerald cut. The Radiant cut owes its brilliance to the 70 facets found in its pavilion and crown. The precision of each facet offers immense brilliance and fire.

Princess cut diamond shapes appear square from the face-up, but are shaped like inverted pyramids with two to four chevron patterns on the underside. Princess cuts have a modified brilliant facet arrangement, offering both electrifying scintillation and a strong, clean shape.

An exclusive in-house diamond cut, Passion cut diamond shapes are similar to the Round, but cut with more facets. This cut has a double pavilion, making the reflection superior to that of the Round Brilliant. The table of the diamond is sufficiently smaller to make way for 16 additional facets, totaling the number of facets to 73.

Coming from the original French word for a diamond’s shape, the Lozenge cut perfectly resembles a rhombus and is the same diamond cut featured on playing cards. With its streamlined faceting and an emphasis on geometry — its four sides are cut in trapezoidal facets that stem down the side — this shape is the embodiment of the Art Deco era and is classically elegant.

An exclusive in-house cut, this cut is similar to Round Brilliant cut but with additional and distinctive faceting on top and bottom. The bottom halves are polished lower and the top crown facets are made in an innovative manner to give the finished product its own unique look, complete with elegant brilliance.

One of the oldest diamond shapes and beloved for its clean, linear lines, the Emerald cut is a testament to exacting precision. This rectangular shape features step-cut facets running down the sides to draw attention towards the center of the stone. These long, symmetrical and narrow facets add depth and dimension, while drawing in light and spotlighting clarity, making this shape look modern and elegant. Crystalline and sleek, this shape highlights long, narrow facets for a sophisticated and stunning “hall of mirrors” effect.

An Octagon  cut  and  an  Emerald  cut  can  sometimes  be  very  difficult  to  tell  apart.  When viewed from the top down, and if the Octagon cut  has  slightly  truncated  corners,  it  can be indistinguishable from an Emerald  cut.  When looking at the Octagon from the side profile, however, you can see that the parallel facets are not of an equal distance, which gives the Octagon its distinctive look.

The Magnat cut, an exclusive in-house cut, is similar to Emerald cut diamonds as it flaunts an elongated, rectangular shape and straight, linear facets—usually arranged parallelly down the stone. To add stability and prevent fractures, the corners of an Emerald Cut Diamond are usually cropped.
